Red de alerta
Esta red atencional conocida tambin como red de vigilancia, es definida
como el logro y la mantencin de un estado de alta sensibilidad a la
informacin de estmulos entrantes (Posner M. , 2008, pg. 193).
Esta red se relaciona con el rendimiento en tareas que requieren alerta
fsica y tnica; es decir, tanto el incremento en la preparacin para
responder frente a un determinado estimulo cuando existe un estmulo
anticipatorio (por ejemplo un sonido) y la capacidad para mantener la
atencin durante periodos prolongados y esto se mide en el tiempo de
reaccin frente a los mismos estmulos primarios pero sin el estmulo
anticipatorio.
Red de orientacin
Es la red que se enfoca en la habilidad para priorizar inputs sensoriales y
seleccionar una modalidad de respuesta o locacin. De acuerdo a
estudios de neuroimagen existen dos sistemas cerebrales asociados a la
orientacin hacia un estmulo externo, una red dorsal frontoparietal y
una red ventral frontoparietal (Corbetta & Shulman, 2002).
Control ejecutivo
La red de ejecutivo central se asocia a situaciones donde es necesario
sobre imponerse a las tendencias automticas o dominantes de
respuesta. Incluye mecanismos para ignorar estmulos distractores y
resolver situaciones de conflicto cognitivo (Posner M. , 2008).
Posner en publicaciones recientes, refiere la existencia de una doble red
de ejecutivo central. Existiendo un sistema de control cngulo-opercular
que muestra activacin neuronal durante la mantencin de los ensayos
que implican resolucin de conflictos y entre cada uno de estos.
Adems, existe un sistema frontoparietal que est dedicado al cambio
de tareas y la iniciacin de las siguientes (Petersen & Posner, 2012).
