RECOMMENDATIONS FOR 2016-2017

Schedule a time other than Wheel for students to work on iReady to

provide optimum time to reach the 45 minute recommended Time on Task
per week per subject. This can be either through stations or by choosing
one day for iReady Math and one day for iReady Reading. During that
time, the teacher can have small group or individual conferences. The
iReady Teacher Training guide has a suggested schedule (pp.71-72).
Teachers check Class Response to Instruction report weekly to see
which students have flags indicating they are performing below the
threshold for passing. More than likely, the domain has been turned off so
students will need intervention before continuing in the domain.
Make sure all domains are turned on through the Program Management
feature under Assignments. Otherwise, students will not have access to
the lessons if the domain is turned off.
Use it as a differentiation tool by adding lessons for the standards taught
in class at the students level.
To entice students to do their best, have class or individual competitions.
Incentives for most passed lessons, greatest amount of Time on Task,
achieving a certain percentage on lessons can encourage students to do
their best. Since it is based on individual ability, every student has the
opportunity to be successful and be included.
