Christ Van Wassenhove Shandra Garner Principal Assistant Principal Orfelinda Todd Actian Torres Assistant Principal __Assistant Principal October 6, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: Thighly recommend Daisy Labra for the Leadership Awareness Academy in Aldine. Daisy has taught Science at Stehlik Intermediate for the past 6 years (5"" Grade for one year and 6" Grade for five years) and is a role model to those whom she teaches. She has demonstrated excellence within the classroom and continually strives to extend her knowledge and skill base. In fact, she is currently pursuing a master degree in Educational Administration from the University of St. Thomas Daisy's dedication to educating her student is exceptional. Her instructional strategies, innovative lessons, classroom management and individualized student support have been instrumental in creating a positive classroom environment and facilitating students’ success. In order to provide her students with quality instruction, she participated in 2012-2013 Rice Elementary Model Science Lab (REMSL) and has been accepted to participate in the 2014-2015 ConocoPhillips Rice Elementary Model Science Lab (REMSL) Catalyst program (A professional development opportunity that promotes STEM Education). She also regularly attends department meetings, staff developments, and participates in regular parent conferences. She is quick to volunteer to assist in other areas of school operations, playing a leading role on the Climate Committee and the PBIS team. Daisy is extremely organized and reliable. When working independently, she is able to follow through to ensure that the job gets done. She is flexible and willing to work on any project with which she is presented. One of the extra duties for which she has volunteered is participating as a member of the Aldine Benefits Advisory Committee. In her free time, she teaches faith formation to elementary students at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church. Daisy Labra would be a tremendous asset for any program and has my highest recommendation. Her personal drive and desire to see all students succeed is evident.
