It is very evident that the generation of today is very attached to their gadgets and updated to the latest
advancements in technology. But, not only do humans have generations, for the computers do as well. Just like
us, each generation is characterized by unique characteristics that identify them. And for the computers, the
latest or youngest generation is the 5th generation which is slowly starting to surface and would be soon spread
for the consumers to use.
What characterizes the 5th generation computers? Based on the various information regarding what kind
of computers are the 5th generation computers, it can be deduced that they will be known for being based on
artificial intelligence which is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent
computer programs, and the ability to recognize and respond to natural language which could already be likened
to a human intelligence and capability. Other developments that could be seen in these computers are the
applications of voice recognition, part of neural networks, which is currently in use by the smart phones, and
other gadgets, the use of nanotechnology, the engineering of functional systems at the molecular scale, and
many more that would make the computers possibly more intelligent than their inventors. However, these
computers are still being developed for they find some difficulties on the aspect regarding natural language.
And despite the failures the inventors and developers have experienced, these computers would surely
be a lot of help to make our works faster than ever and who knows what these computers can achieve and
accomplish once they are available to use or function.
