Approval of Employment Agreement with Yana Smith

Background

Yana Smith is being appointed to the new position of Chief of Organizational
Effectiveness and Culture ("COE''), Office of the Superintendent

Discussion

In this capacity, Employee shall be responsible for creating and executing
on an overall strategy to help teams, managers and individuals become
more effective in their roles. The COE is responsible for improving
management, leadership, organizational design and effectiveness and
workforce planning to enable the District to meet and exceed its goals and
objectives. Responsibilities include identifying and analyzing needs,
designing and implementing solutions with applicable resources and
assuring solutions are working going forward; coaching managers on a
variety of management and change management topics for both current
concerns and issues and futu re organizational growth and effectiveness.
The term of the Agreement is September 1, 2014 to June 30, 2017 with an
annual salary of $155,000.

Recommendation

Approval of the Employment Agreement with Yana Smith.

Fund ing resource name: GP -- not to exceed $155,000 fiscal year.
