One significate leaning experience in this course that is related to

CLPNA competency is to demonstrate knowledge of the human anatomy
and physiological changes during pregnancy. In this course, I have
learned that a nurse play an important role in demonstrating knowledge
in client's anatomy and physiological changes such as lordosis and
melasma, in order to educate and enlighten the client of her anatomical
and physiological changes that are occurring or will occur while
pregnancy progresses.
During the course of her pregnancy, when the nurse is able to
demonstrate knowledge of normal anatomical and physiological changes
that, she/ he is able to better provide proper nursing care that can
facilitate and enhance the health of the mother and as well the growth
and development of the fetus.

Proficiency category: Fair

I receive this proficiency categories rate because of the maternal child
nursing textbook, attended my lecture for NFDN 2004 as well taking
class notes on this subject. As well after class, I read through my notes
again and enhance my research during my personal time to achieve this
competency.

The knowledge I have gained on this competency; I will apply this

learning in my current nursing practice by educating and demonstrating
my knowledge towards anyone who is close to me such as my family
and friends who might be pregnant and are anxious of their physical
changes that will happen.
I will apply this learning in my future nursing practice by providing
interventions that will help mothers who are pregnant and are seeking or
is concerned about the physical changes that occurs. I will be building
on their knowledge to minimize any complications that can happen
during pregnancy and as well enabling them to make good decision
regarding their pregnancy.
