Glossary of Key Terms

Erasmus plus

Erasmus+ is the new programme replacing Lifelong Learning

and Youth Programmes, implemented by the European
Union in the fields of education and youth between 2007 and
2013.

Chapter 1. What are the

organisations needs in terms
of quality development and
internationalisation? Please identify
the main areas for improvement (for
example management competences,
staff competences, new teaching
methods or tools, European
dimension, language competences,
curriculum, the organisation of
teaching and learning).
This section requires information about your organisations needs in terms of quality
development and internationalisation, European mobility plan, and integration of acquired
competences by staff into the organisations strategy of development. If you are applying
as a consortium, it is important that each school identify its own institutional, professional,
administrative and linguistic needs and then a common European Development Plan that
includes these needs. You can use your schools Strategic Plan as a base while developing
your European Development Plan since it includes your organisations objectives in the short
and long run about management, staff competency, teaching methods, quality of education,
etc. On the other hand, making use of Strategic Plan ensures that the activities you plan involve
both individual participants and organisations.

As it is known, needs arise as a result of problems and one of the most important points to be
emphasized in the European Development Plan is to identify the needs in detail. Answering
the questions below while identifying the needs will be helpful in completing this section.
1. What are the shortcomings in the process of internationalisation of the organisations
educational quality when compared to European countries?
2. In what ways does administrative and school staff fail to overcome these shortcomings?
3. Which main fields are based on in overcoming the shortcomings identified? (The main
fields must be relevant to the main problem and subtitles underlying it. For example,
new teaching methods and tools, linguistic-computational competences, curriculum
development, etc.)
4. What is the importance of the competences acquired by focusing on related fields in terms
of European added value?
Note: Emphasising Strategic Plan in particular in your detailed answers to the questions given
will help you identify problems consistently.

Chapter 2. Please outline the

organisations plans for European
mobility and cooperation activities,
and explain how these activities will
contribute to meeting the identified
needs.
In this section you should mention how you will meet the needs identified in the first section
and especially the background of your European mobility plan. It is essential that each activity
included in the plan is relevant to the needs identified before and to your objectives in the short
and long run regarding related fields in the Strategic Plan.
On the other hand, if you are submitting your proposal as a consortium, you need to describe
the roles of each consortium members planned activities and their contributions to meeting the
needs. For example, you can answer such questions in this section as how can establishing a
consortium make it easier for you to achieve the objectives you plan, What is the role of each
consortium member in identifying activities?, Have the activities identified been planned so
as to meet common needs of all organisations?, etc.

Chapter 3. Please explain how

your organisation will integrate the
competences and experiences
acquired by staff participating
in the project, into its strategic
development in the future?
All the explanations in this section must be consistent with the Strategic Plan, which is
addressed in the first question of the European Development Plan section. In order to achieve
each of your objectives in the Strategic Plan, detailed information should be provided regarding
what kind of experience and competences staff will acquire by participating in the project and
how they will be integrated into your organisation.
For example, you can provide information on; integration of European curriculum, techniques,
tools, methods and models observed into your organisation, the works to be carried out in
the process of integrating the skills and competences into the school within the scope of the
European Development Plan, description of the role of individuals, groups or organisations
(stakeholders) in strategic development that are influenced by works of organisations involved
in the project.
