THE 10% PROJECT!
• When Mrs. Foxley, my language arts’ teacher,
set the class a challenge, called, “The Ten
Percent Project,” in which students identify a
need in a community either domestically or
globally; then try to solve it by 10%, I knew I
wanted to help Wheels4Life!
• Founded by world champion, Hans Rey, Wheels4Life
is a non-profit organization that provides bikes for
people in developing countries in need of
transportation to get to work, or to school, including
health care workers. A bike can make a difference in
a person’s life. It can be the difference in having a
job or not, going to school or not, or seeing a doctor

WHAT HAVE I LEARNED FROM THIS
• First, I learned that EACH of us in this world, MATTERS!
• Secondly, I learned that if you wish to see the change in the
world, as Mahatma Gandhi said, the first step begins with ME!
• Next, I found a new global HERO. Finding a HERO who can
inspire you to greatness, is a necessary part of growing up!
Finally and most importantly, I learned that people are kind,
caring, and generous with their time and money.
This fills me with pride and promises HOPE for the future!
