We, Filipinos, love to mingle and make friends,

we like to laugh and socialize, right class?

Yes maam.

But in our conversations how true are the things

we think, say, and do?

Yes maam.

Do we always say the truth? Or sometimes

exaggerate things?

Sometimes maam

How important is telling a truth?

Very important maam

Why is it important?
Yes Janine?
Very good!

Do we value honesty and truthfulness both in

words and actions?

It is important maam for it will help us

to trust people and learn to give
importance of their truthfulness maam
Sometimes maam.

Yes maam

Do we like people who are pretentious and who

give empty promises?
No, Maam
Now, who can tell me the Golden rule of life?

Yes, Levi?
Very good!

No, Mam
Dont do unto others as you would
have them do unto you

Are you all familiar with this quote?

Yes, maam!

This golden rule can be found also in the bible,

in the book of Luke 6:31 its says that

That golden rule only means that Do to

others as you would have them do to
you. If you dont like other to be
pretentious and not honest then you
should be honest and not pretentious
also.
Yes, maam

Is this right?
Why do you think so?
Yes, Kael?

Very nice answer Kael!

Any addition to Kaels answer?
Yes, Kristian?

Sometimes, we come to value truth only

when it concerns and affects us and our
loved ones. In spite of these, we have a
great longing for truth.

Also some of us never stop until the

truth comes out and prevails.

Very good! Lets give your classmates a round of

applause please!
There is a constant challenge to be always
truthful in our thoughts, words and deeds. Now,
what are the common offenses against the truth?
Why did you say so?
Yes, John?

Lying Maam
Lying is the most direct offense
against the truth. To lie is to speak or
act against the truth in order to lead
someone into error. To clarify, lying
is different from erring. Error
happens when we honestly do not
know that what we assert and believe
to be false is true in reality.

Exactly!

Social Orientation
Since we are already talking about lying, I have
3 questions related to it. I want Cris to answer
the first question.

No maam, I did not ever steal. Not

even once because stealing is bad.

Cris, did you ever steal and why?

Very good Cris! I hope everyone here is like

Cris, who never steal.
Why do you think it is bad?
Yes Blair?

It is against the law of God and even

human being, we are provided on the
things that we needed, but sometimes
we tend to want what others have and
cant afford, so the last resort that the
human beings will do is to steal what
others have, we are provided but we
tend to have wants that sometimes
drives us to do bad things and injustice
acts, we should always consider what
we need rather than what we want.

Yes, maam!

Is your classmates answer correct?

Very amazing answer, Blair!
Lets give your classmates a round of applause
please!

Now, what are the common problems about lying

that can seriously harm us?
Please read it everybody.

Thank you!

The common problems about lying are:

1) The integrity and reputation of the
person lied about.
Is this true, class?
2) Those hearing the lie who are
thereby led into error;
3) the peace and harmony of the
community; and finally,
4) The genuine good of the person
who lied.

Class, why do people lie?

Yes, Khalid?

Some people lie to make, fulfill and

satisfy themselves. And also to make
escape to the things theyve done
wrong.

Very good, Khalid!

No. maam!

It is good to lie?

It is bad to tell lies because it can hurt

the feelings of others.

Why do you think so?

Myka?

Very good Myka.

How about cheating? This is the second question.
Drew, did you ever cheat?

Sometimes maam. When I forgot to

make assignment, I tend to copy my
classmates answer. Im sorry maam.

Wow, I didnt expect your answer, Drew! Thank

you for being honest and I hope you will change
for the better.

Yes, maam!

Class, why is cheating bad?

Yes, Verly?

Cheating is bad because for this will not

make you a better person in the future
someday, and its not good to copy ones
answer and ideas for we are made in
uniquely, with our own thoughts and
ideas to be used and be shared to others,
we dont need other people, we just
need to not to be lazy and trust

ourselves.
Very well said, Verly!
So Drew, please change that bad practice of
yours, and start making a difference, and even to
all here in the class, whom I know does cheating
but too shy to admit, class its really not good to
cheat, its not your advantage but it is your
disadvantage.
Do you all understand?
I hope we are clear on this class.
Now, for my last question.
Do you have secrets? Did you ever share your
secrets to other people?
Yes, Mara?

Very Good!
Is keeping a secret bad or good?
Yes, Ariana?

Yes, maam!

Yes, maam. I have secrets and I

shared some of my secrets to my
sister and mother, for keeping secrets
is hard, because sometimes these
secrets may sound bad but it can help
to improve ones person, maam,
because a secret maybe good or bad
secret, maam.

Its not bad to keep secrets but its not

also good to keep bad secrets
knowing that those secrets you keep
can even help other people to change
and become a better person.

Very well said, Ariana! Lets give your

classmates a round of applause!
Moving on, lie often begins with self-deception.
Such deception comes from the fact that in our
conscious relating to others, we are threefold,
right?
Then what are the threefold?
Yes, Ed?

We have these threefold, maam in a

sense that:
1) the way we really are,
2) the way we think we are, and
3) The way we would like to be.

Very good, Ed!

Value Integration
Now class, how can we avoid lying?
Yes, Christine?

Be honest maam.

Very good! We should always practice honesty;

there is truth in the saying. Honesty is the best
policy,

How will you explain the famous saying, Lyka?

What else?
Yes, April?

If you always think, say and do things

honestly, you have nothing to hide, and
you have nothing to fear. You dont
have to prove anything beyond what
you can. You are free.

Be contented maam.

Okay, very well!

How can you say you are contented or how can you Be thankful for who you are and what
show that you are contented?
you have or always be thankful. Look at
Yes, Tiffany?
what you have, what you enjoy, your
privileges and gifts, your talents and
abilities.
Amazing answer Tiffany!
Do you need or do you have a reason to be happy
and thankful?
There is no need for a reason for you to
Yes, Nero?
be happy and be thankful but the mere
fact that God give these all for you then
you should be thankful. Avoid looking
at what you dont have. Otherwise, you
will not learn to appreciate little things
that matter.
Very good, Nero! What an amazing answer!
Be brave to tell the truth maam.
Another idea?
Yes, August?
Thank you August but how can you show it?
August, again?

Have the courage. Have nothing to fear

when you are at the side of truth.
Whenever you are brought by the
consequence of telling the truth, never
be afraid. For at the end the truth will
prevail.

Very good! What a nice answer!

What else?
Yes, Ken?

Have respect to others maam.

Value your reputation because your

person; Do not destroy by lying to or
cheating on others for what you have is
enough.

Nice answer again! Lets give each other a clap!

Another idea?
Yes, Nova?

Pray always maam that for every words

we utter are truth.

Brilliant idea Nova!

What will you pray and how will you site your I will pray to the Holy Spirit that He
