Project Resources Planning

There are seven key project resources that
require early evaluation and forward planning.
Simpler projects may involve only some of
these areas, whereas complex projects may
involve them all:

In commercial and institutional projects,

procurement of materials via purchase

orders or the award of a subcontract is
performed according to the purchasing
plan.
Placement of required materials will be
highlighted in the Critical Path Method
(CPM) schedule. This will dictate when
orders need t o be placed and when
delivery is required, especially for
materials with long-lead time to deliver.

SU BCO N TRACT PLAN N IN G

Trades such as electrical,

mechanical, plumbing, roofing, site

works, and site utilities, as well as
finishing trades, are generally
subcontracted on most projects.
The subcontracted plan is initially
formulated during the estimating
process, since proposals will be
solicited from several subcontractors
in each trades.

SERVICES AN D SYSTEM S
Project services and systems are not

physical resources, but they must be

planned for at about the same time
as the Physical ones.
