The Americas: What Ails Rio De Janeiro?; Crime in Brazil. In ProQuest. N.p.: n.p.,
2003. Accessed May 18, 2016.
This website mostly talked about crime in Brazil. It wasnt very helpful for
government in Rio de Janeiro specifically. I only got information from one
sentence, that I thought would be good for economy.

Brazil. Britannica World Data Analyst. Accessed May 12, 2016.

This source had information on religion, population, and economics. I would say
that it was only helpful for economics and not so much on the other topics. I could
have found better information on religion and population somewhere else (and I
did).

Brazil Environmental Issues. BRAZIL. Accessed May 16, 2016.

This source talked about the environmental issues happening in Brazil. Although
it doesnt mention Rio specifically, I know some of these issues still take place in
Rio because of the certain forests they mentioned and their location. Helped me
have a better understanding of these issues not just in Rio but Brazil too and I
think helped me a lot.

Brazil Protests. In Gale. N.p.: n.p., 2013. Accessed May 18, 2016.

Catherine Cheng 2
Though this article was very short, it did help me. It was about a protest that took
place in Rio and various other places in Brazil about how teachers were rioting
about how they dont get enough pay to pay for affordable housing. This helped
me give me an example in the Housing and Transportation tab.

Environmental problems in Brazil. WWF World Wide Fund for Nature. Accessed May
16, 2016.
This source talked about more environmental problems other than just pollution
and deforestation, but problems that werent as serious, but could become a bigger
problem if not fixed. Helped me with information for Environmental tab.

Government Secretariat Secretary Profile. Governo Do Rio de Janeiro. Accessed May

18, 2016.
Source talked about the Governor and Secretary of State of Government. Also not
that helpful because I only got the information about who these people were. I
didnt understand what they were trying to convey sometimes when reading the
article.

Rio De Janeiro. In Britannica. Accessed May 11, 2016.

This source help me with the economy and life about the people. This helped me a
lot for the economy tab and partly culture.

Rio De Janeiro. In Britannica. Accessed May 11, 2016.

This source talked touched upon all sorts of topics that were relevant to the tabs
we were suppose to have. Such as climate, city layout, economy, culture, etc. This
helped me a lot with all of these topics. Gave me a lot of information.

Rio De Janeiro. In Encyclopedia of Western Colonialism. Accessed May 12, 2016.

Talks about the history of Rio de Janeiro. Helps with History tab.

Rio De Janeiro. In U.S. History in Context. Accessed May 12, 2016.
This source talks about Rio de Janeiro. Talks a lot about migration trends and how
there was a big Jewish immigration. Was very helpful for migration trends.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. In Scholastic. Accessed May 12, 2016.

Talked very little about history, festivals, and environment. But it still contributed
to all of those tabs later on.

Rio De Janeiro Population. In Culture Grams. Accessed May 12, 2016.

Mainly talked about population. Helped with the population tab.

Rio de Janeiro Who we are. Prefeitura Do Rio de Janeiro. Accessed May 18, 2016.
Talked about Rios Government. But it didnt help me that much. I couldnt really
understand what they were talking about. I only use one part of the information
which was the organizational structures.

Rio Holidays. rio.com. Accessed May 16, 2016.

This source mainly talked about holidays the whole time. It was very helpful with
culture. It gave me many details and a lot of information on the different holidays
celebrated in Rio.

Wallenfeldt. Favela. In Britannica Academic. Accessed May 18, 2016.

This source talked about favelas (slums) in Rio and how they are effecting the
economy, the people, who are mainly living in favelas, etc. Was extremely helpful
since I didnt find much information about housing anywhere else. I used this
information as housing since it said that a big percentage of the population live in
favelas.
