“Success is the progressive realization of a worthy goal.” -Earl Nightingale "Progressive" means that success is a journey, not a destination. We never arrive. After we reach one goal, we go on to the next and the next and the next. "Realization" means it is an experience. Outside forces cannot make me feel successful. I have to feel it within myself. It is internal not external. “Worthy” means a goal that fills you with joy

 Most of us work because we have to not because we want

to.

 When we do work that we love doing:
 We put in extra efforts  We get more involved  We are more focused

 That’s why successful people are successful because they

do what they love doing.

 Unfortunately we do not follow our interest.  The result:
 You get frustrated and dissatisfied  You start complaining about your work

 Where will the money come from?

“A person with no goals has no purpose in life and a person without purpose is as good as dead.” Thomas Edison: to create inventions that people needed, that people would pay for and that would be profitable Andrew Carnegie: to spend first half of my life making as much money as I can – and the second half giving it away

People are afraid to dream big because they think it’s not possible to achieve them. "Aim for the moon, even if you miss it, you'll land among the stars." We should not be afraid to dream big and believe in our dreams.

"Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.“ What we think is what we attract, what we think is what we become. When we think in the right direction: - Doors begin to open - Opportunities appear - Universe guides us

If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don't! If you like to win, but think you can't, It's almost certain you won't. you think you'll lose, you're lost; For out in the world we find Success begins with a fellow's will; It's all in the state of mind. If you think you are outclassed, you are, You've got to think high to rise, You've got to be sure of yourself before You can ever win a prize. Life's battles don't always go To the stronger and faster man, But sooner or later the man who wins Is the man who thinks he can.

A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it."

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react.

Story of the two frogs. People might discourage you, criticize you or even laugh at you! Thomas Edison: “You are too stupid to learn” Wright Brothers: who were trying to invent a machine, heavier than air, that would fly. You should not be demotivated but you should believe in yourself.

 Success involves taking responsible and calculated risks  Take risks but don't gamble.  Risk-taking is a relative concept  A Person who does nothing – Farmer’s Example

 Success is not an accident. It is the result of our

dedication and devotion.

 Don’t play not to loose – Play to win  Be committed and don’t just look for shortcuts - The

Easier Way May Actually Be the Tougher Way

 Accept responsibility for your actions and be accountable for

their outcomes

 Don’t just wait for things to happen – Make them happen !  Learn from your mistakes  Example of Retiring President

 It means to continue firmly course of action in spite of difficulty or

opposition

 Don’t quit - Most people fail not because they lack knowledge or

talent but because they quit
     

Success is failure turned inside out The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far ; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit

 Pride of performance does not represent ego. It

represents pleasure with humility

 Take pleasure in whatever you do no matter how trivial it

seems

 Excellence comes when the performer takes pride in

doing his best

 Success requires great efforts and hardwork.  There is no substitute for hardwork.  An average person puts only 25% of his energy on his work.  “A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner”

 It is the sum total of a person’s values, beliefs and

personality.

 Character building starts from infancy and goes on

till death.

 Ability will get you success but character will keep

you successful.

 Go for the Extra Mile!  It gives you more confidence and you become

valuable and respected.

 A mentor or a teacher is a person whose hindsight can

become your foresight.
 Choose your mentor carefully.  A good one will guide and give direction; a bad one will

misguide.

 People don’t learn lesson from history are doomed.  Failure is a teacher if you have right attitude.  What we learn from our mistakes is our experience.
