 Too Good To Be True by Not so Daily French

Il y a quelques jours j'examinais une image sur la page Some days ago, I examined a picture on the home

père, et du patron idéal. Autour de lui, la projection
radieuse de l'équipe de rêve, celle au sein de laquelle
vous vous sentiriez bien: jeune, belle et souriante. La
blonde, la noire pas si noire que ça, le petit dernier au
bas bout. Leurs uniformes montrent à quel point ils
ont envie de faire partie de cette équipe, de se fondre
en elle.
Bien sûr, il y a un rebelle, un bien toiletté. Il n'a ni
veste ni cravate, mais il porte la chemise bleue
archétypale.
At the end of the table, dominating everyone else, the
figure of the father, and of the ideal boss. Around him,
the radiant projection of the dream team, the one
within which you would feel good: young, beautiful,
and smiling. The blonde, the not-so-black black, the

J'ai commencé à analyser cette image à cause de la
nature du site. J'étais sûre qu'une telle équipe ne
pouvait pas être authentique.
Et qu'est-ce que j'ai trouvé hier?
Les mêmes gens, un autre site d'arnaque.
Ne me faites pas dire ce que je ne dis pas. Je ne dis pas
que les acteurs de la photos sont des arnaqueurs. Mais
ceux qui ont choisi ces images voulaient attraper le
lecteur.
I started to analyze the image because of the nature of
the website. I was sure that such a team could not be
genuine.
And what did I find yesterday?
Same people, another scam site.
Don't make me say what I don't say. I am not saying
that the actors on the photo are con artists. But those
who have chosen these pictures wanted to catch the
reader.

Je pense qu'il y a longtemps que je ne vous ai pas
aidés à augmenter votre vocabulaire dans le domaine
de la santé. Alors, allons-y.
Le dernier livre de Robert Whitaker traite de la
montée des maladies mentales en Amérique. Existe-t-
elle? Ou y-a-t'il une utilisation croissante des
psychotropes?
Les antidépresseurs ne marchent pas. Ou, plus
exactement, ils ne produisent aucun bénéfice
significatif comparés à un placebo. Vous pourriez
penser qu'ils devraient donc disparaitre. Ah, je devine
que vous ne gagnez pas votre vie en vendant des
médicaments! Les labos ont une bien meilleure idée.
Puisque c'est inutile, pourquoi ne pas doubler les
doses? Hélas, inutile ne signifie pas sans risque.
Les recherches montrent que les antidépresseurs
entrainent la dépression, avec un taux de rechute
chronique de 85%.
Jusque là, les études montrent que faire de l'exercice
est le traitement qui a le meilleur taux de rémission et
de permanence. Les labos ne vont pas aimer ça.

Il y a six mois Pierre et moi avons commencé à faire
les démarches nécessaires pour obtenir un visa de
résidence permanente au Chili. C'est-à-dire qu'un mois
avant, on avait rempli des formulaires pour obtenir les
formulaires que nous avions à remplir.
Et donc, sept mois après le premier pas, jeudi, nous
avons appris que le droit de résider en permanence au
Chili nous était accordé. Nous devions aller à un
bureau du gouvernement régional et tendre nos
passeports pour que quelqu'un les tamponne.
Donc, vendredi matin, à l'ouverture, nous faisons la
queue avec des centaines d'autres personnes. Le
bureau où on s'occupe des problèmes de visa est au
cinquième étage. La queue commence dans la rue et
s'enroule sur toute la hauteur de la cage d'escalier.
Nous avons monté marche à marche et avons enfin
atteint le cinquième étage. Quelques pas de plus et
nous pouvions lire l'emploi du temps. On ne tamponne
les visas permanents que le lundi.
Nous y serons.
Six month ago I and Pierre started doing what we had
to do to obtain a permanent residence visa in Chile.
That is to say, one month before, we filled documents
in order to get the documents we had to fill to apply.
And so, seven month after the first step, on Thursday,
we learnt that we were granted the right to live
permanently in Chile. We had to go to an office of the
regional government and hand out our passports for
someone to stamp them.
So, Friday morning, at the opening hour, we were
standing in line with hundreds of other people. The
office where they take care of visa problems is on the
fifth floor. The queue starts on the street and rolls up
around the stair case.
We went up step by step and at last reached the fifth
floor. Some steps more and we could read the
schedule. They stamped permanent visas on Mondays
only.
We will be there.
