Krassimir Kyurkchiyski

Krassimir Kyurkchiyski (b. 1936, Troyan) graduated composition with Prof. Pancho Vladigerov from the State
Academy of Music - Sofia and specialized under Dmitri Shostakovich from the Moscow Conservatory. He has
conducted the State Folk Songs and Dances Ensemble and the Folk Songs Ensemble at the Television and Radio
Committee. He has been also teacher of score reading at the “Pancho Vladigerov” State Academy of Music. Prize
winner from the “Paris Music Weeks” Composition Competition (1966). His works have been performed in Italy,
France, Russia, Germany, Australia and many other countries.
