Facing History Reflection

(Microaggressinos)
1. Describe the Facing History activity.
After a presentation on the purpose of mix it up day we were sent to different rooms
with different people ranging from all grades. We were then asked questions and
had to answer it truthfully such as if we were ever affected by microagressions.
2. What did you notice during this activity?
I noticed that everyone had been part of a microaggresion or had say something to
someone that was part of microagressions.
3. How did the activity feel?
I felt confused because some of the microaggresions the leaders were saying made
no sense which made the acvtivity more complicated. Many of us were lost and
were asking others to explain and none knew how to explain.
4. What did you learn?
I learned that people often say things without noticing what they are saying and can
hurt someones feelings. I learned that I often do the same as well that thats
something I need to work on because I dont want to hurt other peoples feelings
5. What did you contribute?
I contributed times that I had been offended by a microaggresion and had said an
microaggresion to someone else.
6. What are you left wondering about?
I kept wondering how did this topic come up in facing history and why they decided
to create an all school event to raise awarness.
