WELDING DIRECTIONS
Weldingisperformedusingdirectcurrentnegativepolarity
(DC).Weldingcanbeperformedusingpulsedcurrent,which
canbeadvantageouswhenweldinginpositionsandforthe
weldingofthingauges.
Whenweldingfullyausteniticandnickelbasedsteels,great
careshouldbetakentominimisetheriskofgettinghotor
solidificationcracking.Theheatinputshouldnotexceed
38.1kJ/in(1.5kJ/mm)andtheinterpasstemperatureshouldbe
max.212F(100C).Theconstructionshouldalsobeproperly
designedwithasufficientrootgapof0.080.1(22.5mm)to
ensurefullpenetrationandaslittledilutionaspossibleofthe
basematerial.
