RECORD SHEETS

The Dark Nova RPG character sheet is a basic sheet to record your character on. It is by no means
complete nor comprehensive. The following describes the sections of the sheet.
Personal Data- This section contains the elements that make the character who he is. Name and Race
are pretty self-explanatory, Ethnicity is for those races that have separate ethnic groups, genetically or
culturally, Occupation is the characters class under his archetype, Level is his current level in that
occupation, XP is the current experience point (XP) pool, TR is the characters Threat Rating, Reputation
and Notoriety are the current modified ratings for each, and Sex, Height, Weight, Age, Eyes and Hair are
all self-explanatory descriptors of the character. Homeworld refers to the planet of the characters birth,
whereas Primary Affiliation refers to the characters current nationality or primary allegiance. Secondary
Affiliation is for those characters with dual citizenship or other, non-national allegiances (for example,
Andali primary affiliation and Holstein Guild secondary affiliation). Reaction Modifier is the total cumulative
modifier to the characters reaction roll, while Appearance is simply a short description of what the
character looks like.
Attributes and Ability Scores- This section contains the ability scores and attributes (PHY, MEN, SOC)
of the character. Ability scores modified by cybernetic augments (but not by race or bio-augmentation,
which is genetic) will be noted thus- the raw score with the augmented score next to it in parenthesis. For
example, Str: 15(19). Refer to the specific ability score for explanations of the effects noted next to each.
Weapons and Weapon Proficiencies- These two sections describe the weapons the character is
carrying (and their stats) and the weapon proficiencies the character has, respectively. Levels are
Familiar (F), Proficient (P), Skilled (S), Expert (E) and Master (M).
Defense and Combat- This section contains information on the characters combat aspects. Armor and
Shields refer to the specific armor and/or personal shield generators worn. Combat contains all of the
modifiers and combat-specific stats used in combat, including Target Acquisition Class (TAC), Targeting,
Initiative modifiers and the number of attacks per round. Below combat is the Health section, which
details the wounds and radiation damage the character may have taken, and how fast he recovers from
damage. Resists are listed here as well, though they are generally not combat-related.
Augments- This section deals with any bio-augmentation or cybernetic augments and their effects
Equipment- This section is a list of pertinent equipment and gear the character has.
Vehicles- This section is a very basic overview of the characters non-vessel vehicles
Skills- This section contains most of the skills in the game, and blank spaces for those we may have
missed or that are added in later. Note that Psionics and Omninet skills- including Computer Operationsare listed under their own section
Contacts- This section lists the contacts- and their status- that a character has.
Psionics- This section details what schools and talents the character has, as well as psi points and
psionic skill ratings.
Omninet- This section details the characters Omninet skills, emulator, avatar and other netjacking data.
Wealth and Lifestyle- This section details briefly the characters wealth and land assets.

SHIP RECORD SHEET


The Ship Record Sheet is designed for Freetrader, privateer and other characters who own vessels larger
than small craft.
Registry- This is the flag the vessel flies under, the primary Affiliation of the captain usually.
Registry Class- Depending on whether it is a warship or not, this is the field for the size of the vessel. If a
civilian vessel- including privateers- then the ships size classification (Small, Medium, Large, Titan) would
go here. If it is a warship, its IATR classification (Corvette, Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, Battlecruiser,
Battleship, Dreadnought) would go here.
Hull Model- In most cases the vessel is a stock ship or a modification of one. This field is for the base hull
model (i.e., Pelican-class Freetrader, Cobra-class privateer, Drake-class corvette, etc.) If the vessel is an
entirely new design using the new ship construction rules featured in the expansion Fortune and Glory,
then its registry name will be put here.
Classification- This is the IATR designation of the category of vessel, either a civilian (Civ) shipcommercial vessels such as freighters, as well as armed merchantmen such as Freetraders- a Privateer,
which while technically a civilian vessel, is better armed and tasked for offensive operations more than
hauling cargo, or a Warship.
Troops- This is the number of troops the vessel can carry. This number refers to both the billeting and
long-term life support and supply capacity of the vessel. Troop quarters are not as luxurious as passenger
or crew quarters, but the vessel carries more supplies and life support capacity in order to house them
indefinitely.
Passengers- This is the number of passengers the vessel can carry. The ship carries enough supplies to
house the full compliment of passengers for 90 days. More luxurious than standard crew quarters,
passenger quarters are designed for short-term comfort rather than long-term duration stays
Max life support- This is the maximum amount of people the vessel can support before life support is
overloaded. This includes atmosphere, waste processing and hygiene.
TAC- This is the Target Acquisition Class of the vessel, listed in the tactical sidebar for quick reference.
SIG- This is the final modified signature of the vessel. If cloaking fields or other temporary signature
boosters are installed, the temporary modified signature should go next to the base in parentheses. In
other words, a vessel with a modified signature of 15 and a cloaking field generator rating 4 (granting 14
points to Sig when activated) would list it thus- 15(29), listed in the tactical sidebar for quick reference.
MAN- The final modified maneuverability class of the vessel, listed in the tactical sidebar for quick
reference.
CAP- The total capacitor bank, as determined by the number of reactors and modified by microreactors
and other systems, listed in the tactical sidebar for quick reference.
TAR- The total modifiers to Targeting, listed in the tactical sidebar for quick reference.
Skill modifiers- The total modifiers to Sensors, WP: Gunnery, Navigation, Piloting and other skills
granted by specialized equipment aboard the vessel
Hull Points- This is where the hull points are divided up into their specific areas- Structure, Armor, and
Shields. In most cases shields will be equal all the way around the vessel, but some customizations by
players or specialized combat shielding can have higher ratings on certain angles of the vessel. Also
included in this section are the vessels Structure Points for purposes of modification.
Power and Propulsion- This is the number and type of sub-light engines (Engines), jump drives (Jump
Engine), reactors and power sub-systems (Power Plant), etc. The vessels Cap is also listed here.
Systems- These are all of the ships specific operations systems, including sensor type, rating and
enhancements, the ships AI, navcomp rating, number of probes, if any, and the type and capabilities of
the security systems.
