Nunchuck
Materials: 2 - ½’’ inch diameter dowels, 7 ½’’ long Size 8 double point needles Gray and black worsted weight yarn Directions: Cast on 9 sts, divide evenly on 3 dpns with black yarn. Knit in round for about 6 ½ to 7’’. Switch to gray yarn and knit 1 round. Purl one round, then knit about 3/4’’. Slip dowel inside tube, and continue to decreases. The length of the dowel should be covered. K2, [K2tog (one from current needle, and the 1st stitch from the next needle), K1], repeat until all needles have 2 sts. (6 sts) K2tog , repeat 3 times (3 sts) Slip all stitches to one needle and knit as an I-cord for 1 ½-2’’. Bind off. Sew end into the same place that I-cord began. Cinch up bottom of handle and sew in end. Make 1 more nunchuck handle. Make 5 short I-cords to make links in chain. Cast on 3 sts and knit as I-cord for 1 ½-2’’. Tie and sew in ends to create loops, making sure to connect from each handle for the chain.

Throwing star
Materials: 1’’ plastic ring Size 5 crochet hook Size 8 double point needles Directions: Crochet around plastic loop until it is completely covered. Alternate making one stitch from the inside of the loop and one from the outside of the loop (20 sts each). Use crochet hook to pick up 6 sts onto one dpn (RS), and on the opposite side of the loop pick up 5 sts onto another dpn (WS). Knit from these needles in round to create the spikes. 1) RS: K6, WS: K5 2) RS: K5, slip last stitch to second needle, WS: sl1, K1, psso, K4 3) RS: K5, WS: K2tog, K3 4) RS: K4, slip last stitch to second needle, WS: sl1, K1, psso, K3 5) RS: K4, WS: K2tog, K2 6) RS: K3, slip last stitch to second needle, WS: sl1, K1, psso, K2 7) RS: K3, WS: K2tog, K1 8) RS: K2, slip last stitch to second needle, WS: sl1, K1, psso, K1 9) RS: K2tog, WS: K2tog (slip to same needle), pass first stitch over last, tie off. Turn the loop and pick up 6 more stitches (RS) next to the completed spike. The first picked up stitch should be in the same place as the last stitch on the previous spike. Pick up 5 stitches (WS) on the opposite side. None of these stitches will share with stitches from the previous spike. Make 4 spikes, then weave in all strings.
