(Reference TEIL specification 6249-A-00-40-952 clause no. 2.8)
(a)

Wind Pressure Calculation :

Wind Load for Equipment including anchor chair shall be calculated on the basis of IS 875.
The basic wind speed of the site is taken as 39m/s.
Drag Coefficient for cylindrical vessel shall be 0.7 minimum
K1 = 1.06
K2 = Factor based on category 3 (For Units)
K3 = Factor based on site topography 1.0.
Contingency factor of 1.1 shall be used on wind pressure.
Based on the above parameters wind pressure has be calculated as mentioned below.
Please use user defined option in PV Elite. In case of Pluto, use pressure directly.
Also please note that shape factor has already been considered. Donot further reduce with shape
factor.

Structure Class A : Structure and/or their Components Such as cladding, glazing, roofing, etc. having
maximum dimension (greatest horizontal or vertical dimension) less than 20 m.
Structure Class B : Structure and/or their Components Such as cladding, glazing, goofing, etc. having
maximum dimension (greatest horizontal or vertical dimension) less than 50 m.

Structure Class C : Structure and/or their Components Such as cladding, glazing, goofing, etc. having
maximum dimension (greatest horizontal or vertical dimension) greater than 50 m.

Vessel (Horizontal / Vertical) & Heat Exchanger Wind pressure Values to be entered directly from
below tables in PVElite. (here K2 factor is considered without gust)
Column/Reactor Wind pressure Values to be entered in PVElite as per Excel sheet located at below
path. (here K2 factor is considered with gust)
