Philosophy Statement

I am committed to empowering students to become lifelong learners with ethical and moral decisionmaking in a digital age. In partnership with families and with collaborating among teachers, I am
dedicated to building a technological foundation in our students, so they become leaders who are able to
solve problems and advance humanity. I am dedicated to the students having a diverse and experience and
becoming good stewards of the world, by being a good citizen of their community and their digital world.
It is important for teachers like myself to be committed to safe, legal, and ethical use of digital
technologies. Without our acts of responsible digital citizenship the student might not know how to be
responsible digital citizens. They could in turn hurt, harm, and reveal sensitive information about others
or themselves. I am committed to teaching our students how to address privacy, security and
implementation of acceptable policies using digital technology.
The strategies I will use to effective teach student safe, legal and ethical use of digital technology will
include but is not limited to;
Teaching my students and abiding by acceptable use policies (AUPs).
Teaching my students the difference between public domain, Copyright, and fair use.
Teaching students about cheating and plagiarism.
Teaching students about the importance of password security.
Teaching students about internet safety.
Teaching student about technology resources.
I will use filtering software in the classroom to protect students while they are learning in
a safe digital environment.
I will stay up to date with current technology and help learn and grow along with the
students to provide the best digital well rounded classroom experience for the students.
I will act as a responsible digital citizen modeling moral, ethical, safe, and legal values.
I will collaborate to integrate technology in all areas of curriculum.
My goals for the students are as follows but are not limited to;

The students will utilize technology effectively, appropriately, and responsibly across the
curriculum.
The student will apply technology creatively, innovatively, and with integrity to problemsolve and produce original work.
The student will use technology to communicate and collaborate with multiple audiences
both locally and globally.
The student will demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems,
and operations.
