The fashion in which an company’s information technology department must choose and manage its systems and how it has to deal with the ethical considerations inherent in the collection and storage of confidential client and employee information were all brought forth during this course. I also was familiarized with e-commerce and e-business practices. E-commerce
provides company affiliation, customer services, selling and purchase of goods and services, electronic transactions and e-learning. (Rainer and Turban, 2009). Our team Club IT assignments gave me a taste of the working knowledge and process of analysis that are required for IT problems. This was a good arena for
discovering those company requirements and implementation tools that are available. These included customer relation management (CRM), joint application design (JAD), supply chain management (SCM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and systems development lifecycle (SDLC). This course has given me more confidence by developing skills that relate to IT management. I have a greater understanding of the questions and issues that have to be considered when purchasing IT solutions. One of these skills is the preparation of the technological plan for IT purchases. I am sure that this will serve me well and will help me to organize other types of strategic plans in business.
