Hong Kong to get even smarter

Asia's first dual-chip identity and stored-value smart card has been launched in Hong Kong. Called CitySmart, the card was launched jointly by the Hang Seng Bank and the City University of Hong Kong to provide electronic access and means of payment for the University's staff and students. The identity and access elements of the card are supported by a contactless chip, while the stored-value elements use a traditional contact chip.
