The function of time is guide
mankind in conducting daily
activities. Our daily life is very
much governed by time.
What You See on a Clock
A clock only shows 12 hours or half a day.
Clocks and watches have both a big hand to tell the
minutes and a little hand to tell the hour. Look at the
picture below.

Time
There are two types of clocks:
A clock with hands, called an analog
clock.
A clock with numbers only, called a
digital clock. A digital clock tells you
both the hour and the minutes using
numbers, such as 12:45.
• We use the expression of “o’clock” for telling
the time.
• It is nine o’clock
• O’clock is especially for reporting the exact
hour.

• Example: 1st method: Half past ten,
