Solution: Let the point be P(x, y) The given condition is PA = 5.

b) The ratio of the distances of a moving point from the two fixed points is constant Example: A point P moves such that its distance from S(1, 2) and T(4, -1) are in the ratio 2 : 1. Find the equation of locus of P.

Solution: Let P(x, y) be the moving point. The given condition is PS : PT = 2 : 1.
