Studies have shown that people who are optimistic and playful live longer, healthier, and happier lives. Being childlike is not the same as being childish which is being irresponsible and immature. Summertime is the perfect time to start making changes to cultivate kidlike qualities. Remember how much fun it was as a child to play outside just for fun and chase lightning bugs. Before children learn to play games to win, they play just for fun -- the pleasure is in the playing. So just do something for fun not to win, not to excel. Take up a new activity like kayaking or golfing just for the fun of it. You don't have to win or be better than someone else to have fun. Or just play with your children in the evening ... play badminton or chase those lightning bugs. Make time to play ... schedule time on your calendar at least once a week. Or go exploring, or take time for a creative project whether it's quilting, photography, ot cooking, There are man ways to be creative aside from painting or other art. And by all means celebrate your birthday —- have fun with those you love. Remember the parable of the three servants who looked after the master’ money while he was gone? ‘The first two servants invested the money wisely, but the third was punished for having done nothing with what was given him. (See Matthew 25:14- 30.) He was a poor steward of his master's goods. A steward is someone trusted to manage an employer’ affairs and possessions. We have each been eusted with talents and strengths to use in God's service and to further his mission. He expects us to use these gifts to help others know him, love him, serve him, and be happy with him in Heaven. ‘Today, stewardship means committing the best portion of our time, talent, and treasure to the mission of the Church. Generous sharing of resources, including money, is central to caring for God's Church and his people When you realize that everything you have and everything you do is from God, then you ‘want to give back to God in thanksgiving, That's modern day stewardship in action. ‘Our Mission Topridepacica des promote iii cabana Succ abi rushes of crowing ath ad Pare | “Stojeh ne (enjen. rer x ‘penirorngnh com {unennt semester nhl aa ed ean © Copy 0 Sus Pain & Med LLC [Ban Grioss, crs, ons paranoner EL MESOREEE pace aed macarons RESTAURANTE MEXICANO [v= CRYE-LEIKE stare 423.385.3047 ‘Come To Our Sunday Brunch! 11-3.
