NE in nearly every three Indians is a migrant—whether it is a Tripura IT graduate employed in Hyderabad or a woman from Jharkhand who travels to work as a help in Delhi. For a nation on the move, it is Delhi and Mumbai (included in Maharashtra) that receive the largest share. Industrialised Gujarat, Haryana and Punjab also draw in many.
