Vision & Mission STATEMENT

To be the leading Telecommunication Services Provider in

Pakistan by offering innovative Communication solutions for our
Customers while exceeding Shareholder value & Employee
Expectations.
History of Organization

 Mobilink GSM (PMCL), a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom, is

the market leader in providing state-of-the-art
communications solutions in Pakistan. We can proudly boast
of being the first cellular service provider in Pakistan to
operate on a 100% digital GSM technology

 Mobilink GSM started operations in the year 1994; from then

on it has shown enormous growth. At the time when it
entered the market it was a small player in the cellular
market of Pakistan it is now the market leader both in terms
of growth as well as having the largest subscriber base in
Pakistan.

 Landscape of telecommunications is changing fast with the advent of

state of the art technologies and rising nations are doing hard to
keep themselves abreast of emerging trends in the field of
telecommunication.

 Convergence of technologies has, at a rapid pace, revolutionized every

field of human life and so is the case with Telecommunications.

 Pakistan is in no way an exemption to this developing shift. The

sector has witnessed enormous advancement with the grant of two
licenses to new cellular companies and several other licenses for
fixed line services, thus fetching huge foreign and local investment
and bringing momentous changes in socio-economic scenario of the
country

 As latest figures show, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in telecom

sector reached US $ 207.1 million in 2004 which was just US $ 6.1
million in 2002. Besides, US $ 5 to 8 billion FDI is expected in the
next 3 to 5 years.

providing services to just under 3 million cellular subscribers all over the
country. The number of customers has more than tripled in the past two
years. The table below provides an overview of the current subscriber base of
the operators:

 Mobilink
 U- fone
 Paktel
 Insta phone
 Telenor
 Warid telecom

Competitive strategies
 The hard-hitting competition among the existing
four mobile phone service companies, Mobilink, Paktel, Insta
and Ufone, had already begun soon after the issue of two
new licenses to Warid Telecom and Telenor by the Pakistan
Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

 These companies are not even charging connection fees from

new customers and just charging the Federal government
tax with an aim to capture maximum customers before the
launching of the two new companies.

Control mechanisms used by the organization
 The management should allocate specific budgets for the enhancement of the
promotional activities of the company.

 Company has the facility to reduce the cost of production, to reduce the fixed
cost by full utilization of the full plant capacity and installation latest plants.

 The financial charges should be control especially commission to the agents

should be controlled. Which affect the profit of the company?

 The sale of the company should be increased by searching new markets in the
international market, which I think company make efforts, because from
previous history trend show the increase in exports of the company which is a
healthy sign to increase the wealth of the share holder.

 By installation of new latest technological plants quality of the products

should be improve by the company.

 New product lines in fashion design and style should be launched so that to
satisfy the customer and ultimately for increase the sale of the products.
 Cotton varieties and ginning quality should be improved, growers and
gainers listening more to their customers the spinning, weavers and
finishing.

 The company should increase the capacity utilization of existing

spinning, weaving and finishing units.

 There should be value addition by investment in printing, dyeing, and

stitching units with less reliance on lyarn and fabric exports which
already subject to low price realization.

 The instability of the government policies and the set up as well should
be viewed while for setting new policies.

 The financial analysts should be very sensitive to fell the rapid and
worse situations in the international as well as local markets.

 Lowering the energy costs to allow the industry to become more

competitive.
Various aspects of motivation successful/ management
 Conclusions:-
 You know its time of competitions, any organization or institute who
ignore this element in globalization will automatically out from the
market. Then question arises that who will be the survivors? Only
those can be surviving who compete this global market perfectly.
When we’ll be the member of WTO (World Trade Organization),
when there’ll be free trade.

 Mobilink Telecommunication is also faces a tenor in which there is

both opportunities and threats for it to be able and survive and
growth. But many of the challenges that shall occur will be outside
of the control of the Mills. However, this does not absolve the
government of Pakistan

 Now there is need that the government and the industry realize that
a sincere and positive approach has to be made to meet the
challenges of the present day competition environment. In this
regard adequate finance for capital Investments, working capital
and development of comprehensive long-term strategies.
Growth & Future
 To keep tradition of mega growth, management of Mobilink
telecommication industries is fully aware of the new challenges of
international trade.

 A team of young directors has taken up the task of doing the

manufacturing activity on the most modern lines.

 Emphasizing the research & development as core of there policy

the management is targeting a triple digit growth in the next five
years both in sales volumes and manufacturing capacity. Service
excellence and value.
