EASA PART 66 AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE LICENCE GUIDANCE NOTES FOR OVERSEAS WRITTEN EXAMINATION APPLICATIONS General Guidance 1. Use form CI|1002 to apply to sit any of the following in our overseas venues • Part 66 written modular examination papers • Part 66 essay examination papers • Conversion examinations from BCAR Section L Licence 2. You should read the requirements of Part 66 before completing this form. Information on the Part 66 license and the examinations is available on the main CAA web site http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=177&pagetype=68&gid=777 3. Requests for cancellations, transfers or amendments to a booking must be made in writing at least 30 days before the examination. An administration fee of £31 is payable for each cancellation, transfer or amendment. Examination bookings cannot be amended within the 30 days prior to the examination. Candidates failing to attend an exam will lose all fees paid. Cancellations for medical reasons will not incur the administration fee, providing that a valid medical certificate (original) is provided, together with a letter of explanation.

Payment Methods Applications must be accompanied by the correct payment by cheque, bankers draft or credit card. Please attach payment form number CI |1187 to detail your payment method. Please note we require the 3 digit security code on all credit card payments.

Declaration – 90 day rule Part 66, Appendix ll,1.11states “All Part 66 modules that make up a complete Part 66 aircraft maintenance license category or sub category must be passed within a 5 year time period of passing the first modules except in the case specified in paragraph 1.12. A failed module may not be re-taken for at least 90 days following the date of the failed module examination, except in the case of a Part 147 approved maintenance training organisation which conducts a course of retraining tailored to the failed subjects in the particular module when the failed module may be retaken after 30 days “ Applicants wishing to re-take any failed modules within 90 days must provide a course completion certificate detailing -: • The training establishment name and address • The applicants (your) name • Details of the training given relating to the failed modules • Duration of training and dates • A signature by authorised training personnel. Submission Instructions Please post or fax your application form (details below) with the payment form and required payment. Please note that if this is your first application to the UK CAA we will also require a copy of you passport. This must be certified as a true copy by the Quality Manager of your current employer or the training manager of the Part 147 Approved Organisation as appropriate.
