How to Learn Astrology: Part II - Advanced
by Michael Erlewine

588 pages, 429 color illustrations

This second volume in the "How to Use Astrology" contains more advanced material and supplementary materials include full-phase aspects, in-depth cycle analysis, including the Saturn cycle, Saturn to the angles, large chart patterns. Also, how to set up an astrological business, perform astrological readings, and much more. Advanced views of the lunation cycle and the retrograde phenomenon are also covered. 588 pages, 429 illustrations.

“As the curator of a very large astrological library, I have a good idea of what students of astrology are looking for, and one thing that is needed is a collection of plenty of accurate diagrams and illustrations. The old saying that a picture is worth 1,000 words is especially true with astrology, and that is why I was interested in creating a course such as this one. No book publisher would consider allowing us to have almost one thousand color illustrations, which is why we chose the e-book format.

“And I wanted something more than just the same old, same old. Of course all the basics are there. But in addition to the traditional material, I felt it important to cover what is required for you to become a professional astrologer, how to start an astrological business, setting up an office, advertising, and all of that mundane but very important information. Equally important is the detailed section on how to become an astrological counselor, how to do readings, and what to expect from your clients and from yourself.

“And last, but not least, the emphasis in this course is on interpretation: what astrology means and how it is useful in day-to-day living. ‘Meaning’ is what this course is all about. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did putting it together.”

In brief: Removing the excess.

Saturn's transit of the eighth house takes us even
farther from the body of our personal experience, and
gives us still greater powers of observation and
analysis. This indeed is the house of business, if by
business we mean making the right calls, picking the
winners from the losers, separating the treasure from
the trash. This will be a time when we are at our
sharpest, in a business sense, when we have enough
analytical powers to know what is good for us and what
to avoid, a talent we may have sorely needed up to this
point.

This is the point where we strip bare any
misconceptions and illusions we may have had about
ourselves, exposing the naked bare bones of whatever
reality we do have. There is very little sentimentality

here. This is about getting down to the nitty-gritty and
making the tough calls.

This is not a time to start new things or to push for
change, but one to withdraw wisely, and to reap
whatever we can, to accrue the results, and to appraise
our situation with a cold eye to the future. We are talking
Aikido here, not Judo, about taking advantage of the
forces already in motion, rather than taking new
initiatives. We are manipulators, not the manipulated.
