Configuring Windows Vista and Windows 7 for KIOSK mode

1. Create a domain account for workstation login – same procedure as the generic workstation account. You will use this account to Auto Login to computer

2. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon. Modify the ‘AutoAdminLogin’ value to ‘1′.

3. From run command type “control userpasswords2”.

Check then uncheck “User’s must enter a user name and password to use this computer” 4. you will be prompted for the UserName / Password to Automatically Log On 5. You will be presented with CTRL-ALT-DEL screen and can log in as another . hold down the shift key while logging off or during startup. To logon as another user. Install SWC client as normal 7. Modify Registry to the correct domain for the user HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon – change DefaultDomainName to the correct value Auto Logon is now complete 6. Restart machine and it should auto logon and you will be presented in Full Shell / RDP Mode otherwise known as KIOSK mode. 8. When you hit OK.

. If you login with a user that is registered in SWC then you will get Full Shell or if you login with the generic workstation account then you will also get Full Shell.use. Therefore to get to a Host shell. you will need to login with either a local account or an account not registered in SWC.
