September 16, 2010 GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- A man attending court was arrested after Gwinnett County deputies said they found drugs in his pockets. Duluth resident Khainan Murdock, 27, went to the Gwinnett County courthouse on W ednesday for an arraignment hearing on charges of hit-and-run, driving without a valid license, and giving police a false name or information, officials said. There was also an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court i n Cobb County. When Murdock stepped into the courtroom, Gwinnett County deputy Mike Lawler deta ined him while he confirmed the warrant out of Cobb County, officials said. Lawl er then conducted a pat-down search, and said he discovered a bag of marijuana i n the pocket of his pants. Murdock was charged with possession of marijuana less than an ounce and was tran sported to the Gwinnett County Jail.
