What Makes a Good Communicator?
‡ Ability to listen well. ‡ Ability to comprehend written and spoken language. ‡ Ability to think clearly. ‡ Ability to express ideas clearly in words. ‡ Ability to write clearly and competently. ‡ Ability to interpret nonverbal clues. ‡ Ability to respect the other party and win the other party's confidence. ‡ Good memory.

Talking too Fast
‡ Problem:
± If people normally look a little lost or confused when conversing with you, it would be a good idea to evaluate the speed at which you speak.

‡ Solution:
± Listening your speech is an effort to improve the way you speak.

Talking too Much
‡ Problem:
± If you talk too much, people will get bored and will avoid you.

‡ Solution:
± Remember, nobody wants irrelevant information. At work, ask yourself if what you are going to say will make sense or add any value to what is being discussed.

Talking to Boss/Client

± You are standing in front of your chairman at your company's annual meeting and you are shy and can´t speak. ± You have lost your chance to interact with him, and he has moved ahead to greet other people.

± Train and be prepared to talk. ± Cultivate your confidence. ± Get rid of your shyness step-bystep.

Negative Body Language

± Wrong way to keep standing. ± Bad posture.

‡ Solution:
± Be aware of your body movements and language.

Mind your Manners
‡ Problem:
± You are not polite.

‡ Solution:
± It pays off to be polite and aware of your bad habits. 'Please' and 'Thank you' go a long way in building good relationships.
