reach a total market volume of 5.52 million tonnes. The rate of growth has been phenomenal, but is beginning
to slow down, largely due to the market becoming more mature in an increasingly large area of the country,
not just in the main urban centres. This is attributable both to improved consumer spending power across
more of the country, to better distribution by manufacturers, better penetration into more retail outlets and
catering outlets, as well as increased levels of marketing and advertising by the manufacturers, both above and
