[Application Continues Overleaf]
As per IRSAM Regulation 3.0, all applicants will be considered according to the following criteria,
in decreasing order of importance: availability, willingness to prepare and participate,
attendance at IRSAM meetings, participation in other IRSAM events/activities, experience, skill,
recommendation by executive members.

In the following space, please list your Model UN-related experience, as well as any other
classes, leadership experiences, international relations related activities, and other
achievements or accomplishments that you feel may be relevant. If you include
recommendations for which Model United Nations committees or topics you prefer, they will be
considered. Remember that having no Model UN experience does not automatically
disqualify you from participation in a trip or event. Also, please describe why you would be
an ideal representative of McGill and IRSAM at either of these conferences. Attach additional
pages as needed.

The experience of Model UN can be fulfilling, challenging, and fun for all involved. Those with
experience know the value of high-quality preparation and research beforehand, with regards to
both specific countries and the United Nations system. If you are selected for a conference, you
will be required to suitably research your assigned country or position, submit a short position
paper in advance of the trip, and attend training workshops and meetings with your fellow
delegates. Knowing this, you must be prepared to start research immediately after receiving
confirmation of your attendance.

You will be contacted once attendance decisions have been made. At that point, a detailed
payment schedule will be made available to delegates - including a non-refundable deposit of
50% of the trip price, due within four days of notification of your country assignment. Failure to
submit a timely payment will result in the immediate forfeiture of your assigned position. The
remaining balance of the applicable fee will be due before departure. Please ensure that there
are no unacceptable conflicts with midterms or papers before committing to a trip.

All applications are due at 6:30PM on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010. They may be
submitted to Robert Townley (VP Delegations) at any meeting, placed in the IRSAM Box on the
4th floor of the Shatner Building (mailbox B-101), or filled out and e-mailed.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Robert Townley, VP Delegations, at
delegations@gmail.ca.
