Try to imagine life without a mobile phone. Or better yet, visualize
yourself being a student in this high technology generation without
having your own mobile phone. Weird, right? Either you could be
regarded as the most outdated youth or worst is being the most out
of this world human being! After all, who doesn·t have a mobile
phone? When even elementary students do own one, Proof? Doblon
(2004) stated that the Philippines is being tagged as the ´Texting
Capital of the World. ´
But for a split moment, try to image life as a student minus a mobile
phone. The absence of that small gadget from your hands brings you
more focus on whatever it is you are doing. You save more precious
time studying rather that wasting time on text messaging forwarding
non ² sensible message to a group of friends. Not to mention the
heightened bills due to charging phone batteries. Medical research
even shows the percentage of people·s failing health is caused by
radiation of cellular phones. But to top them all, the budget spent on
cell phone loads adds up to what is already hard to attain daily
allocation for our basic needs.
