A Tale of Two Trees The first tree - “For since death came through one man...

” Romans 5:12 - Picture Adam as a root; since the root sinned, the entire tree is poisoned by this root. Whatever the root sucks up the entire tree feeds on. The second tree - “The resurrection of the death also comes through a man” Romans 5:21 - Picture Jesus as a root; since the root is righteous, the entire tree is pumped with grace to be righteous. In Adam Ephesians 2:1-3 - cover verse at a time explaining the awfulness of being IN the Adam tree. In the Adam tree God must hate you because your very nature is that of a sinner. Why good deeds mean nothing in the Adam tree: Ephesians 2:4-5 - God hates your very nature, and all good deeds won’t change your nature. In Christ Ephesians 2:6-10 - Good deeds are only useful to God after He’s crafted you IN Christ. Benefits IN Christ Ephesians 1:3-12 - cover verse at a time explaining the benefits of being IN the Christ tree. Galatians 2:20 - IN Christ I’m crucified. How do we get IN Christ? Ephesians 1:13-14 - Believe the Gospel that tells you about the new Christ tree, the Gospel that calls you to forsake the Adam tree and repent for being a part of it. Romans 11:16-23 - When you believe, God grafts you into His Christ tree. What happens once I’m grafted IN? John 15:1-7 - We must remain in Him. When we do, we may ask for anything and receive it. Colossians 2:6-7 - And don’t be static, but grow! (Acts 17:28). What if I stay in the Adam tree? Matthew 3:10 - You will go to Hell. John 8:24 - You will die in your sins.
