HR which is evolving in Our Company is been traditionally involved in the functions of recruitment, selection, induction, training and development, grievance handling, employee counseling, industrial relations in the organization is perceived to be Institutional by approach with complete transparency. If one views it from the global perspective, the HR functions has undergone perceptible change and if these changes are not taken cognizance of the department simply ceases to exist. Technology cannot substitute human interactions. However business decisions highly numbers oriented and IT must give its value addition to enhance HR transactions on daily activities such as Employee Contract renewals, VISA Processes. Currently HR Management software which we invested monies in, is catering to document Employee Transfers, and HR MIS, seamlessly. Other key benefits to the Unit heads are: HR MIS pertaining to his team. With a bigger salary structure, perks, compensation benefits, given to deserving employees since 2010 beginning, I expect / what I want the HR leaders to redefine every employee his roles and their contribution to DS Construction. I want HR professionals with enthusiasm for the business, a strong presence among their peers, professional compatibility with top executives, and down to earth savvy. In other words, I expect the department of HR to be a service centre apart from taking adequate care of people who are skilled, educated, talented & knowledgeable. However, some employees still believe that HR is the place to get free therapy, happiness, more welfare schemes. I as an owner’s perspective, on the other hand, expect HR professionals to build organizations systems, processes, methods to the company extremely competitive. For example HR dash board mentioned in the enclosed pages, indicates key HR services handled as well as on issues such as creating tangible employee satisfaction and retention. Now that the pending Salary disbursements have been through, all employees must focus on their daily productivity. There are many challenges on business front main issue is receivables from our prime clients. I wish all employees happy duseerah which brings DS family members to enjoy festival. I was reading an article published in a newspaper WHAT IS HR. The meaning I got from the article if I sum up its like: “real” HR professional has to have a combination of profiles:-

     

The The The The The The

brains of Einstein. Charisma of Kennedy. negotiating skills of Kissinger. marketing skills of Iacocca. soul of Mother Teresa. stamina of Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

The HR in the new millennium has gone in for a big change and the HR professionals who are people managers need to adapt to change quickly, correctly before they could consider changing the mind set of their employees. Often HR pros are perceived as only able to deal with the softer side of business because they are diplomatic, typically positive in outlook and gracious. Outcomes that VERTICAL head expect are a well-executed HR strategy, an efficient HR service, an increase in employee commitment and capability, and organizational renewal. To successfully deliver on these goods, HR works 24/7 to interact with employees and always HR radar’s analysis is conveyed to Business Owner’s In the Prerna September 2010, we have innovative articles and news on DS family member’s issues and concerns Lastly, HR is on tremendous pressure due to budget constraints, to send employees on FINAL and LEAVE. Prime reason, as we all know that our key customers are very slow in giving us the monies for the construction work executed over the last 6 months. Happy Prerna September 2010 reading

Social networking websites have been around since the mid-90's, but in recent years, social networking has exploded across the web. The Web 2.0 initiative has made modern social networking sites increasingly popular and easier to use than the initial wave of sites that launched in the 90's. Last year, Face book surged past MySpace to become the most popular social network. Flixster also gained ground, overtaking Classmates, and LinkedIn rose in popularity as more people focused on their jobs. And while Twitter is as much of a social messaging platform as a social network, it has definitely led an invasion into the top social networks over the past two years. The top social networking websites is divided into three categories: General purpose, special interest social networks with a specific theme, and international sites.

Facebook: Founded by Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook was designed as a social networking site for Harvard students. After spreading from Harvard through the university ranks and down into high school, Facebook was opened to the public in 2006. MySpace: Started in 2003, MySpace was a driving force in popularizing social networking and still maintains a large user base. A highly customizable social network, MySpace continues to reposition itself in the industry. Create a Flashy MySpace Profile Twitter: What started out as a micro blogging website has quickly grown into a social messaging platform and one of the top social networks in the world. Twitter is phenomenon that transcends social networking to provide an outlet for news, trends, buzz, and chat among many other uses. Ning: A social network for creating social networks, Ning takes the idea of groups to a whole new level. The ability to create your own community makes Ning a great home away from home for organizations and groups looking to fill the social void. How to Create a Social Network on Ning

Mark Zuckerberg Born on May 14, 1984 (now aged 26) Education Phillips Exeter Academy attended Harvard College Occupation Co-founder, CEO & President of Face book Net worth

Zuckerberg launched Facebook from his Harvard dormitory room on February 4, 2004. The idea for Facebook came from his days at Phillips Exeter Academy, which, like most colleges and prep schools, had a long-standing tradition of publishing an annual student directory with headshot photos of students, faculty and staff known as the "Facebook". Once at college, Zuckerberg's Facebook started off as just a "Harvard thing" until Zuckerberg decided to spread Facebook to other schools, enlisting the help of roommate Dustin Moskovitz. They first spread it to Stanford, Dartmouth, Columbia, New York University, Cornell, Brown and Yale, and then to other schools with social contacts with Harvard. Zuckerberg moved to Palo Alto, California, with Moskovitz and some friends. They leased a small house that served as an office. Over the summer, Zuckerberg met Peter Thiel who invested in the company. They got their first office during the summer of 2004. According to Zuckerberg, the group planned to return to Harvard in the fall but eventually decided to remain in California. On July 21, 2010, Zuckerberg reported on the Facebook blog that the company reached the 500 million-user mark.

What are 5 top issues really worrying employees? In DS Construction FZ co.

1. What is my future in DS? Ans: HR has developed grading system. Your administrator must explain to you –your current grade and career Path 2. When will I go home and see my family members Ans: We have made tactical plan to ensure that your going home as per contract is respected and executed. Please ask your administrator to explain to you the plan and when likely you can proceed to India. 3. How long I should wait for my turn to get leave processed? Ans: Every effort is on to send you as per contractual obligations. Admisntrator in your unit will detail you 4. What happens to my family if anything happens to me Ans: for all cases other than NATURAL DEATH, we have taken policy in India. Incase of WORKER- NATURAL DEATH, per death each Worker voluntarily contributes 1 LIB DINAR and staff contributes 5 LIB DINARS, An the management contributes 100% matching monies and entire amount is paid through cheque in INDIA, to the family members of the deceased employee 5. Why I am having fear in my mind? We strongly suggest developing good hobbies like playing sports, and praying and Yoga. This will enhance confidence and strong mind to live with purpose. YOGA @ WORK Yoga is becoming popular in all parts of the world. For the restless mind it gives solace. For the sick, it is a boon. For the common man, it helps to keep him fit, comfortable and beautiful. People practice it for increasing memory, intelligence and creativity. With its multifold advantages it is becoming a part of education and potential therapeutic tool to prevent and manage the psychosomatic diseases. Human beings resources and its development are based on the synchronization of their mind and body. The practice of Yoga is a perfect means to develop this harmony to synchronize their mind and body. Why Yoga in Workplace? To be efficient in any field – whether personal or professional – the key is to be relaxed and aware. The benefits of Yoga are manifold and most of us are aware of this, although we have not had the opportunity to learn more about Yoga. There are short-term benefits of Yoga and more long term benefits. Short-term benefits include relaxation and rest; while long term benefits of Yoga for employees include more tangible results including:  Less sick days lost  Less back pain  Better problem solving skills  Improve posture and flexibility  Mental clarity  Stress management  Improved Self Esteem  The Happiness Factor  Quicker response time  Energy and Vitality  Stronger Team

How the practice of Yoga helps to improve the productivity of the workforce? Any job can be done in two ways: First – “ It is my duty, so, I have to do it”. Second – “ It is my job, I love it and I want to do it.”

The “have to” attitude burdens you every minute of the hour, and every hour of the day leading to stress. The “want to” attitude leaves you mentally refreshed, more productive and charged up after a long day of debugging the programs. So how can you bring about a transformation from the first to the second way? The secret lies in the attitude while a work is done. This attitude develops automatically once you have a healthy body mind and vibrant spirit. The answer seems convincing enough, but sadly it is locked up in box to which we don’t seem to have the key. In your present situation, it is unlikely that you may know where the key is i.e. How to achieve that state mind. Ask yourself, do you know how to relax? If you do, but find it too time consuming to follow it, then you should also know that, actually it is not so. One hour of Yogic practice in a day will give you 23 hours of confidence, of Health and Well being. 10 minutes of relaxation practice will yield in seven hours the work of nine hours. So don’t feel guilty in spending that one sacred hour of the day to yourself. You are doing a favor to yourself and in the bargain making the best insurance for your future. It is the Yogic techniques which are the key to the box, the Yoga you shall practice here will encompass both your professional and personal life. The Yoga sessions shall consist of following     Yogasansa (Yoga postures) Pranayama (Breathing techniques) Relaxation techniques Meditation

Yogasansa Asanas help in gently stretching and exploring all parts of the body and can be adopted by persons of all size, weight, state and age. They provide Physical Fitness while increasing awareness they strengthen the Spine - a basic necessity for total Physical Health, and ease tension in the neck and shoulder reason. Pranayama Pranayama brings new levels of awareness by stopping or restraining distractions of the mind. These practices reduce thoughts, conflicts etc. in the mind and thus increase the concentration, memory along with wonderful physiological advantages. Pranayama helps therapeutically in managing asthma , hypertension, digestive disorders sinusitis etc. Relaxation Techniques By Relaxation one can release tension both in mind and body for a period of time to allow complete rest and revitalization. It helps in a number of ailments , stress and tiredness. These techniques are an effective method to break habits like smoothing, poor eating regimen etc Meditation This is the practice involving control of the mental functions which start from the initial withdrawal of the senses from external objects. The basic principle of meditation is to develop internal awareness. Thus these practices will increase the productivity of the employees and Promote positive physical and mental health.

It was Rob Janoff, the Art Director of Regis McKenna Advertising who in early 1977 were hired by Steve Jobs to define a new logo and logotype. According to Rob's own words...the real reason behind the bite is thus... "I designed it with a bite for scale, so people get that it was an apple not a cherry. Also it was kind of iconic about taking a bite out of an apple. Something that everyone can experience. It goes across cultures. If anybody ever had an apple he probably bitten into it and that's what you get. It was after I designed it, that my creative director told me: "Well you know, there is a computer term called byte". And I was like: "You're kidding!" So, it was like perfect, but it was coincidental that it was also a computer term."

It's true that Apple differentiates itself from other PC manufacturers by producing premium products at premium prices, but there are downsides to remaining a premium niche brand: At some point a niche market becomes saturated. Apple currently has up to an estimated 10% of the PC marketplace. It's unlikely that much more than 10% of consumers want a premium PC at a premium price. Using BMW as an analogy, BMW makes great high end cars but unless they ever start producing cars and trucks that are salable outside their niche market they will remain a niche player, with limited growth potential. Some Mac users might say "So what? Apple is doing just fine as a premium PC manufacturer.". These are the same people who keep hoping that Apple's market share will continue to grow. The problem is that Apple's market share growth is limited to the available market for its products. Because of this, Apple's market share may be already reaching its limit.

By- KHUSHWANT SINGH Having lived a reasonably contented life, I was musing over what a person should strive for to achieve happiness. I drew up a list of a few essentials which I put forward for the readers' appraisal. 1. First and foremost is GOOD HEALTH. If you do not enjoy good health you can never be happy. Any ailment, however trivial, will deduct from your happiness. 2. Second, A HEALTHY BANK BALANCE. It need not run into crores but should be enough to provide for creature comforts and something to spare for recreation, like eating out, going to the pictures, travelling or going on holidays on the hills or by the sea. Shortage of money can be only demoralizing. Living on credit or borrowing is demeaning and lowers one in one's own eyes. 3. Third, A HOME OF YOUR OWN. Rented premises can never give you the snug feeling of a nest which is yours for keeps that a home provides: if it has a garden space, all the better. Plant your own trees and flowers, see them grow and blossom, cultivate a sense of kinship with them. 4. Fourth, AN UNDERSTANDING COMPANION, be it your spouse or a friend. If there are too many misunderstandings, they will rob you of your peace of mind. It is better to be divorced than to bicker all the time. 5. Fifth, LACK OF ENVY towards those who have done better than you in life; risen higher, made more money, or earned more fame. Envy can be very corroding; avoid comparing yourself with others. 6. Sixth, DO NOT ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE to descend on you for gup-shup. By the time you get rid of them, you will feel exhausted and poisoned by their gossip-mongering. 7. Seventh, CULTIVATE SOME HOBBIES which can bring you a sense of fulfilment, such as gardening, reading, writing, painting, playing or listening to music. Going to clubs or parties to get free drinks or to meet celebrities is criminal waste of time. 8. Eighth, every morning and evening, devote 15 minutes to INTROSPECTION. In the morning, 10 minutes should be spent on stilling the mind and then five in listing things you have to do that day. In the evening, five minutes to still the mind again, and ten to go over what you had undertaken to do.

RICHNESS is not earning More, Spending more or saving more, but... "RICHNESS IS WHEN YOU NEED NO MORE"
