With APU and electrical systems running normally and the navigation system aligning, we will start
the left and right engines one at a time. Both engines will use the APU to start them. When on the
ground, you cannot use one engine to start the other.

1. Confirm that both Engine Operate switches are in the NORM position.
2. Move the Left throttle from the OFF to the IDLE (56% core RPM) position. This will
automatically initiate a left engine start with the automatic ignition. Once moved to idle,
the DC fuel boost pumps will activate to feed that engine.
3. Check flight control movements and monitor the left hydraulic system indicator on the Fuel
Quantity and Hydraulic Indicator Panel. Normal pressure should be between 2,800 and
3,350 psi.
