BLEACHING POWDER

. a white amorphous powder with a pungent smell of chlorine.

 Amount of available chlorine in a good sample of bleaching powder is 33% .

Deodorant . Disinfection of water  2.USES  1. Disinfection of urine & feces  3.

during well disinfection .Roughly 2.5 gram of bleaching powder is required for 1000 litres of water .

the principle in chlorination is to ensure a free residual chlorine of 0.5 mg / litre at the end of one hour contact .

CHIEF DRAWBACK  unstable compound and loses its chlorine content on storage. .

dry place in a closed container that is resistant to corrosion.  should be stored in a dark .STABILIZED BLEACH  when mixed with excess lime it retains its strength . cool . .
