• The international organization for
standardization (ISO) was established in 1946
in Geneva, Switzerland,.
• It is an association of national standard bodies
of more than 150 countries.
ISO 9000 and ISO 14000
• The ISO 9000 family is primarily concerned
with “ QUALITY MANAGEMENT”. This means
what the organization does to fulfill.
• The customer quality requirements,
• Applicable regulatory requirements,
• Enhance customer satisfaction,
• Achieve continual improvement.

• The ISO 9000 family is primarily concerned
with “ ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT”. This
means what the organization does to fulfill

environmental caused by it activities ,
• Achieve continual improvement of its
environmental performance.
Need for ISO 9000 and other quality system

• Every organization is concerned with the


quality of its products or service. To assure the
quality one has to ensure the quality. To
ensure the quality it is necessary to make
quality assurance system. Sound quality
assurance system requires well define quality
system standards.
Quality and standardization are the two
essential pre-requires organization to
market its products and service in the
competitive business environmental.
Thus quality begins with standards. Also
