Contract term s from start date (as soon as possible) to March 31, 2011 Locariol Toronto ON. BACKGROUND: The Chiefs of Ontario (COO) was established as a coordinating unit o assist the 133 First Nations to improve their quality of life through advocacy and lobbying the provincial and federal governments, ministries, departments and agencies. The Contract position will be located at the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health (CAMH) and work with both CAMH and the Chiefs of Ontario Secretariat under the overall direction of the COO Executive Director andlor designate DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Conduct an environmental scan of existing resources related fo tobacco use and cessation among First Nations youth, including witten reports, print and web-based resources; 2. Prepare literature review of tobacco prevention and cessation among First Nations youth; 3. Assist with semi-structured interviews; 4, Assist in developing and implementing focus groups with Fist Nations youth across Ontario 5, Analyze data and prepare evaluation reports; 6. Travel may be required; 7. Toperform other duties as require. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: > Undergraduate degree andior relevant experience in health andlor tobacco research > Knowledge of Indian Act, Federal and Provincial legislation relating to tobacco; > Knowledge of principles of health education: > Knowledge of First Nations cuture and traditions, in particular related to tobacco use; > Experience in curiculum development; > —_Selfmotivated and able to work independently with limited supervision in afast paced environment; > Possess organizational and communications skils and the ability to muti-task; > Experience with computer software applications Word, Excel and Power Point; stalsical analysis software, internet searches, «heen wos nae Fe Nae ty denn Ft soe a Nene Al Rtn Usen Ore eae Licens Possession ofa valid Ontario motor vehicle operator's license and viling to use personal vehicle in the course of employment as required.
