**The polynomial 2x3 − x2 + ax − 6, where a is a constant, is denoted by p(x). It is given that (x + 2) is a factor of p(x).

(i) Find the value of a. (ii) When a has this value, factorise p(x) completely.

(ii) Verify by calculation that this root lies between 0.5 and 1. (iii) Show that, if a sequence of values given by the iterative formula
