Salutation Body Text

Dear Sir,

The Higher Education Commission is constant working to use the economies of scale to provide and efficient education and research network, computer hardware as well as requisite software tools to enhance productivity of university faculty, staff and students. In this regards, I am pleased to inform you that the Higher Education Commission has signed a strategic Educational Alliance Agreement with Microsoft Corporation for the Institutions of higher learning in Pakistan. As a consequence all public sector universities and degree awarding institutions in Pakistan will have full access to the latest licensed software from Microsoft, not only for all servers operating in the universities but also for the desktops and laptops of faculty and staff. An additional feature is that the software would also be available for home use of faculty and staff. List of features and educational benefits available under the Educational Alliance Agreement is given in the attached sheet. This initiative will greatly facilitate the universities to enhance efficiency of operation and will also ensure that only licensed software is used by the education institutions. Moreover, to help the Institutions to start taking benefit from this initiative at the earliest, Microsoft¶s premium partner, M/s Expert Systems has been engaged for the deployment/ installation of Windows 2008 Server, Exchange Server 2010, Forefront Server, etc. Please note that deployment of the software is subject to availability of required hardware at the universities/ DAIs. It is important to move fast to benefit from this historic initiative of the HEC. You are therefore requested to kindly nominate a technical contact person by September 13, 2010 for further coordination and smooth execution of this project at your Institution. Since the number of institutions in which the software packages are to be implemented is large, an early response and nomination will enable us to prioritize the execution of program at your university.
