You won’t be able to vary the pace and the angle of your shots without wristwork. Every player. the grip should not be too tight or too loose. And also in order to get the angle for the shot. Every shot has different grip handling. An incorrect grip will result in using more arm movements to execute your shots instead of using your wrist. you have to use your fingers to twist the racket in your hand. Hold the racket by its throat with your nonracket hand and with your racket hand shake hands with the racket. Copyright © 2007 by www. This is because an incorrect grip will limit the range of your strokes and will reduce power of your shots. There are basically two types of grip which is the forehand and backhand grip. it will determine your skills and also the level you will reach in Badminton. you will lose the racket control. Certain players like to shorten their grip to gain more control in their shots. Let’s look into the forehand grip first. Place your index finger on top of the handle to ensure some space in the “V” groove. And if you hold it too loose. you are locking your wrist. The butt of your racket should be facing you instead. Without a correct grip. Many people often ask this question: “how tight should I hold the racket?” Well. * Characteristic of different grips You have to adjust or change your grip in order to cope with different situations. * Forehand Grip The backhand grip is slightly different from the forehand grip.
