BRINGS SMILES AND SUCCESS!
It was a great afternoon full of smiles and activities at Beloit’s Chautauqua Park on Sunday, September 26 for the 4th Annual Walk-Run 4 Life! There were over 200 persons registered from the NCK area and some even came by way of airplane from Medicine Lodge! Competitive events included a 5K run, 4 mile and 16 mile bike races, and kids’ 1/2 mile run. Approximately 100 people ranging from babies in strollers to 80 years old took part in the Walk as a statement promoting LIFE for the unborn, pausing for prayer at the county courthouse led by Rev. Dan Daniels. Following the walk and races, a meal was served and a drawing was held for door prizes. Both were made possible by donations from businesses in Beloit, Downs, Glen Elder, Osborne, and Tipton. Corporate sponsors were Cunningham Telephone & Cable Co., Adam and Jody Vowinckel, Star Seed, Inc., Osborne Industries, Inc.; Computer Solutions, Inc., State Bank of Downs, Wise Construction, Inc., Rolling Hills Electric Coop., Goodwin Sporting Goods Inc., Farmway Coop, Inc., Farm Bureau Financial Services, Jason Chancellor, Agent, Hubbard Feeds, Inc., Landoll Corp., Mill Street Trading Co., LLC, and Mitchell County Convention & Tourism Committee. Over $13,000 was collected for Heart Choices through pledges, donations, and corporate sponsorships!

Fourteen young men attended the Pure Excitement event at Glen Elder State Park at Waconda Lake on September 18th, learning about the seven winning strategies in the sexual integrity game plan. The retreat’s purpose is to give the guys practical tools to live a lifestyle of sexual integrity to their wedding day and beyond. Thanks to Dan Daniels, Doug Twaddell, Joel Applegate, Brad Mason, Doug McKinney, Tyler Dunstan, Jeremy Adams, and Carl Fugate for the men who served as leaders and sponsors for this event.
The next PURE FREEDOM over night retreat for 7th, 8th and 9th grade girls will be held on Friday, October 29th. It will begin at 5:00 pm that evening and will end by 9:00 am Saturday morning and will be held at the Glen Elder Christian Church Life Ministry Center. Pure Freedom is a fun, interactive event where the girls can learn about God’s plan for their sexuality. Every session carries a deep scriptural challenge for the attendees on an intimate level.
