INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT Evaluating Online Banking Websites
Some of the biggest banks want your business and they are putting it on the line. The information about financial products and services goes to naught if users have difficulty finding or understanding the information they need. 1. American Express (www.americanexpress.com) Why Leave home ? Amex offers very attractive interest rates on deposits, lots of personal finance information and links to online trading. 2. Bank of America (www.bankofamerica.com) Sleek, no-nonsense design is pitched to retail and business customers alike. 3. Citi (www.citi.com) Citigroup wants to help you round up all your financial activity and park it here. The site updates your finances to include your latest credit card bill, for instance. Security is top-notch. 4. Wells Fargo (www.wellsfargo.com) This West Coast innovator has taken its act nationally. Good design aimed at both consumers and commercial accounts. The color scheme looks odd unless you’re a San Fransisco ‘49ers fan. 5. Bank One (www.bankone.com) This recently rebranded site has learned from experience. The home page provides space for brand, image, navigation, log-in, and promotions all without appearing overly cluttered of confusing.
