The Chicago Police Department uses every tool and resource to safeguard our neighborhoods

and reduce violence in our communities. Court approved search warrants are a necessary tool
for law enforcement to investigate potential criminal activity and combat crimes. In this case,
information was obtained through a confidential community informant about narcotics and
possibly firearms being stored at a residence. Upon approval from the courts, officers executed
a warrant and recovered a Tec 9 semi-automatic machine pistol, a .45 caliber handgun, narcotic
scales, grinders, a money counter, and Heroin with a street value of $900.00. These illegal
materials were submitted into evidence and documented for further investigation into the
target of the search warrant, given that he was incarcerated at the time.
