During the day, he goes out into the town, killing as many sleeping vampires (that some mysterious disease as created) as he can. D uring the night, many of the other vampires come to his house-fortress, constant ly taunting him to come out. Near the end of the book, he is tricked into leaving and is captured by the vamp ires, and taken away to their new town. The vampires are the new humans of Earth , and to them, Robert Neville is the monster of their world, as vampires are to humans. History varies depending on who is writing it. To us, an enemy might be evil and therefore must be destroyed, but to them, they might just be protecting them fr om those who try to impose on their livelihood.
