Public Space – the definitions
• Public Space is the place “Where you stay, meet other, observe the world, relax, enjoy yourself……”

• Freely access by Public, disregarding economic and social conditions
• Welcoming Area and equal to all

Therefore, public space is never a matter of unimportance. It is about social justices

with the belief enjoying a good public space is one of the fundamental rights of a citizen, esp. the disadvantaged.

What is a good Public Space
Principle Concepts:
•Encourage Interactions •Multi-Functional

A Passage; A place for chatting and gathering; with artistic designs; Clean and proper managed environment;

What is a good Public Space – Multifunctional

Should these kind of multifunctional uses be encouraged?

Methodology: On Site Observation Objective(s): 1. To investigate the quantity and quality of public space within project area; 2. To identify problems exist in the public space within project area and provide creative solutions. What you need to do today: 1. Compete the set of worksheet ; 2. Take photos for any interesting things; and 3. Prepare a 5 min PowerPoint presentation base on the information you collected . * Please submit your worksheet (1set/ group) and mail me your PowerPoint after this session
