The New Facebook Messages Welcome to the next evolution of Facebook Messages that now lets you: • • • Focus

on the messages you care about Integrate your Chats, Texts, and Email in one place Easily maintain your online conversations

How It Works Your new messages will be prioritized so you always receive messages from your friends first.

All other messages are organized in your “Other” folder. This includes Page Updates and messages from Groups. You always have the choice to move things from your Messages folder to your Other folder and vice versa.

Getting Started As we gradually roll out the new Messages to people over the next few months, you’ll see a notification that lets you know your Messages have changed.

After you click “Get Started”, we’ll show you a page where you can learn more about some of the improvements.

While the new interface for your messages is not a drastic design change, there are some new functions we want people to be aware of.

After you’ve upgraded, you’ll first have the option to choose an email address that corresponds to your Facebook username. If you don’t yet have a username, you can pick one at that time.

You can also turn on SMS text messaging, so you can send and receive messages from your phone.

If you’re online, you’ll receive your messages in real time on Facebook Chat. You can also respond to the message through your Chat box.
